Terms of Service

1. What RidgeFile is

RidgeFile ("the Service", available at business.rummytech.org) is a fan-made roleplay web application built for a Roblox community. It simulates a fictional government business registry for the fictional "State of Ridgeway".

Nothing on this Service is real. The "State of Ridgeway", its "Department of State", "ACRA", registrations, licences, filings, fees and currency are all fictional and exist only for entertainment within the roleplay community. Registrations and documents produced by the Service have no legal effect anywhere in the real world.

The Service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Roblox Corporation, and is not a website of any real government or government agency.

2. Acceptance of these terms

By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

3. Accounts and eligibility

You sign in to the Service with your Roblox account via Roblox's official OAuth service. You must comply with the Roblox Terms of Use and be eligible to hold a Roblox account. We never see or store your Roblox password.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Community officials ("officers") are appointed within the roleplay and hold no real-world authority.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit unlawful, hateful, harassing, obscene or otherwise abusive content (including entity names, descriptions and filings);
  • impersonate other people, or use the Service to deceive anyone into believing its documents are real;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' accounts or the underlying infrastructure;
  • scrape, overload or disrupt the Service, or use it to distribute spam or malware.

We may remove content and suspend or terminate access at our discretion, with or without notice, to keep the community safe.

5. Your content

You keep any rights you hold in the content you submit (for example entity names and filing details). By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and process it for the purpose of operating the Service, including showing it on the public register within the Service.

6. Fees and virtual items

All "fees", "dollars" and "payments" shown in the Service are fictional roleplay values. The Service does not process real money, and nothing in it constitutes a real financial product, charge or obligation.

7. Availability and changes

The Service is a hobby project provided free of charge. We may change, suspend or discontinue it (or wipe its data) at any time without notice. We may also update these terms; the current version will always be published at this address, and continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

8. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operators of the Service will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
